The Auto Owners is listed in the Fortune 500 list. It was founded in 1916. The Auto Owners insurance company is situated in Lansing, Michigan. Although the name suggests only auto insurance, Auto Owners actually provides many lines of insurance ranging form property, liability, auto, garage, workers compensation, and life. Auto insurance is used to help the customer from sudden financial loss which happens due to an accident. Actually it's an agreement made by the customer and the insurance providing company. The customer pays a certain amount to the company which is nothing but a premium and in return, the customer will be benefited if any unwanted accident occurs and damages the property.

Benefits of Auto Insurance:

  • The property coverage helps in the case of vehicles damage or stolen.
  • Other coverage named as liability coverage is helpful in the case of accident to the customers.
  • All the medical related expenses are paid under the medical coverage plan.

Auto Insurance coverage :

In the case of an accident, repairing charges are paid by the Auto Owners insurance company. If the vehicle was stolen, damaged then the amount required for purchasing new vehicle is paid by the company. There is other option in the coverage named as legal liability in which the amount is claimed from the person who has made the accident to the vehicle. Adjuster came out unprepared (no ladder) to inspect roof damage.Sent check 2weeks later for insignificant amount.When i was able to get back in touch thru my agent he said he only paid me as a favor cause the damage was a maintainance issue. I requested an adjuster to review the additional damage and havent heard from them since.

Claims adjuster was rude, providing misleading statenments and not fully disclosing option to settle claim resulting fromm roof damage due to tornado. Associate was unprofessional and accused me of starting an argument, she also stated a check had been mailed, this was more than a month ago. No documentation has been provided to show claim was filed, associate has not provided explanation to show how proposed settlement was determined and refused to provide additional assistance and hung up the phone..

Very poor attitudes toward claims. Even the claims investigators are rude, in talking down to the customer, and accuse them of wrong doing. And then they refuse coverage..

I was severly injured in an industrial accident and Auto Owners would only pay for minor bills. They would not operate on an ankle that had every tendon torn from a work accident. They would not take care of a broken back as a result of the same work accident. Warning: there is a reason they are reasonable on the premium. My strong suggestion is to stay away from Auto Owners. I am telling you the honest truth. Please beware..
